The Power of PHOTOGRAPHY

Photos do a better job of telling stories, conveying emotion, selling products & services.  We all know the saying “a picture speaks a 1000 words”.  Research has shown that the brain processes images 60,000 times faster than it does text & that 93% of all human communication is visual.

“Photography helps people to see.”
– Berenice Abbott

A precise, clear image will give a customer a quick delivery of what product you are selling. People don’t want to be bombarded with text after just landing on your page, remember you have only around 3 seconds to engage that first-time user.

We want to show them the exact product they are interested in and how it can be used in everyday life, this is called visual context. Once we’ve caught the consumer’s eye, further detail then can be provided.

Relay Importance
Take a look at the newspaper covers for iconic or infamous events. It's not the headline that captures your attention, but usually the huge image.

Convey Intimacy
There's no way a cocktail bar would rather settle for a stock photo of coworkers having drinks than photograph an original recipe from inside a booth.

Speak Volumes
Photos are so useful because they can tell the story, or at least depict the heart of it, in relatively small space.
Lend Credibility
There is no comparable effect an original photo has in helping customers understand your company as experts, local or reputable.
